Important

Reading is important to our family.  I love reading magazines, cookbooks, fluffy novels, young adult fiction.  mrdub loves reading the newspaper (especially the sports section), sports biographies, historical novels.  We've been reading to Baby W since the day he was born-- we brought "The Night You Were Born" to the hospital for his first book, and before that we often read books to my belly.  We can only hope that Baby W has a love for reading and finds books as important as we do!

Chair

I knew for months before his birthday that I wanted to buy Baby W a table and chair set for his first birthday.  It didn't take me long to find a cute set from IKEA and I was so excited we bought it even before most of his Christmas gifts.  He's not a big fan of the chairs yet, but I hope it's something he grows into... and I can already picture him sitting at the table having a snack, drawing pictures, reading books and being crafty!

I took a picture of Baby W with a big, plush carrot each month his first year.  It got harder and harder as the months went on for him to keep still enough to get that picture, so I've decided for his second year I'm going to take his picture sitting in the chair.  Maybe by his 2nd birthday I'll even get him smiling in it?!

I made that!

My "I made that" picture for today is of Baby W's scrapbook.  It's not my first scrapbook, but I am pretty proud of how quickly I put it together.  I didn't start until late December or early January and I had the book about 90% complete by the time we had his 1st birthday party!  Admittedly, I haven't added any pages since, but I'll get around to it... maybe even before his 2nd birthday :)

L is for..

I had a hard time coming up with today's picture (hopefully this isn't a foreshadowing for the rest of the challenge), but apparently not many things in my day-to-day life stand out with the letter "L."  We took Baby W to the doc yesterday, only to find out he has pink eye and (his 1st) ear infection.  mrdub stayed home with him today and had the mission to disinfect the house, so before I left for school this morning we stripped the beds and linens.  Katie suggested "L is for laundry!"  Since all the laundry was piled in our basement, awaiting a steamy swirl in the washer, I thought that was perfect.  I grabbed Will, made a nice cozy seat in the laundry, and snapped a photo.  Done.

BUT just as I was on my way out, mrdub was giving Baby W a bottle and I saw an even better opportunity. So here's my real picture for today's challenge...  "L is for little fingers."

Baby W-- That's my boy!

I'm Baby W's mom... teacher by day, momma by night.  W's the only child in our house for now, unless you count our furbaby, Schatzi.  My husband and I are both teachers in the Milwaukee area and will celebrate our 5 year anniversary this summer!  When I'm not parenting or teaching, you can find me... cooking, eating (no point in cooking if you don't enjoy eating, right?!), taking too many pictures, scrapbooking (have to do something with all those pictures!), and being crafty.  Sometimes you can even find me blogging at Teach. Eat. Play.
